ABOUT ME

A woman with blonde, wavy hair and pink lipstick smiling at the camera in a room decorated with a round mirror, plants, and pink and white mugs.

I’m Sarah Swanberg, a business strategist for health and wellness practice owners and a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.

I help health and wellness practice owners build businesses that are financially sustainable, well-structured, and supportive of real life.

My work is grounded in firsthand experience building and scaling a multidisciplinary wellness practice, not theory or generic coaching frameworks.

I live and work in Stamford, CT, and work with clients around the world.

Background and experience

I am the owner and co-founder of Indigo Wellness Group, a multi-location, multidisciplinary wellness practice in Connecticut. I built the business from a one-room acupuncture practice into a collaborative care model that includes multiple providers, disciplines, systems, and locations.

I understand the realities of growth because I’ve lived them. That includes staffing decisions, pricing changes, capacity challenges, leadership transitions, and the operational complexity that comes with expansion. My work with practice owners is shaped by the real-world decisions required to grow sustainably, without burning out the business or the person running it.

Beyond my own practice

In addition to my clinical and leadership work, I’m the author of two books focused on health, wellness, and education.

My work has also extended beyond my own practice into writing, speaking, and moderating conversations around:
• Practice growth and sustainability
• Multidisciplinary care models
• Leadership in wellness businesses
• Building systems that support both clients and practitioners

I also consult with wellness brands and organizations on strategy, structure, and growth, bringing the same practical, grounded lens I use in my work with practice owners.

My approach

I take a practical, grounded approach to business strategy. I don’t believe in hustle culture, inflated growth promises, or one-size-fits-all systems.

In our work together, we focus on:
• Clear decision-making
• Thoughtful, sustainable growth
• Structure that reduces overwhelm
• Systems that support both the business and the human running it

I act as a strategic sounding board, helping you think clearly, prioritize effectively, and move forward with confidence.

WHO I WORK WITH

I work with health and wellness practice owners at many stages of business, including new owners opening their first practice, established owners growing teams or revenue, and those building or transitioning into multidisciplinary care.

My clients include acupuncturists, massage therapists, naturopathic doctors, nutritionists, health coaches, and functional and integrative medicine providers who want practical guidance from someone who understands the complexity of this work.
